We're Rumah Baba Fred

Welcome to the Heritage Home Museum of Baba Fred and his family, a treasured destination where Peranakan history, culture, and food come to life. As a 4th Generation Peranakan of Malacca origin, Baba Fred takes great pride in being a purveyor of his rich heritage.

Our humble journey started in an HDB flat, and as we grew, we found ourselves nestled in a charming shop at Changi. Today, we have found our home in a beautiful Peranakan shophouse in Geylang. Throughout the years, we have not only filled countless bellies but also built lasting friendships with our valued customers.

Today, the legacy continues with Baba Fred and his daughter, Elizabeth, at the helm. Together, this father-daughter duo is on a mission to preserve and share the Peranakan food culture, one satisfied belly at a time.

That's why we vow to always serve up goodness. Our food will always be lovingly homemade, slow-cooked with love, and served with warm smiles.

We believe in offering our customers only the same flavours and quality that we would proudly serve our own family, and this is how we cook for those we love.

Peranakan Bentos

No time to linger? That's fine. We've packed you a fuss-free meal you can have anywhere you are without compromising on satisfaction.

Our Bentos come with Blue Pea Rice, a vegetable dish, a meat dish and pickles.

Feeling extra hungry? Make it a set with our homemade drink/ dessert or add a side!

We change our menu every month to keep things interesting and spicyyy!

Peranakan Lunch Set

Dining in at our heritage home? We have curated a set lunch taking you from starters to sweet endings with our desserts.

We change our menu every month so do check in for our latest offerings!

Bring your family and friends! We serve lunch from Wednesday to Saturday from 11:30am- 2:30pm.

Private Dining Experience

How we started out in our humble HDB flat, offering an authentic experience of Peranakan cuisine, artefacts, and history that will transport you to a different time and place.

Inclusive of a one hour talk on the Peranakan culture followed by a customised 10-course dinner.

Baba Fred will take you on a journey through our heritage home with stories, history and artefacts of the Peranakans before you sit down to enjoy a customised dinner cooked just for you.
